Belgrave runner Phil Wicks along with Michael Skinner 3rd (5th in the recent National XC and winner of the UK Cross Challenge) and European U23 Silver medallist (65th on the first lap!) Andy Vernon all headed up to the World XC Championships in scotland. St Mary students Mitch Goose 55th in the Juniors and Ben Lindsay 5th in the Home Nations and first Junior ran strongly. Holyrood Park gives a superb venue with easy access, brlliant hotels and plenty of places to eat and party. I recommend the Aparthotel in the old town if you want a fuly fitted kitchen and living room. Haggis at the Worlds End pub up the road was a new experience (good one) while at the opposite end was my uglist experience of having to look at the Scottish Parliament. Some may say you should appreciate work of all designers but on this one I shall reserve judgement. This must be the ugliest, most unpractical building I have ever laid my eyes on. An insult to the beauty that surounds it with the Palace and the hills of the Park. Oh well, back to the running..... all in all a good show but they gotta sort the official programme out. My mate is a designer and he cringed at the layout. £3 could have brought a shot of good Scottish whisky...
