After his 5th place in the Surrey Champs XC last year things looked bright for Will Clarke from Epsom and Ewell. By his own admission, a not so great track season followed. Possible over racing and frequent fatigue hampering his efforts. He lives happily over the country and has started his winter campaign strongly with a brave run. Dean Lacey ( Cambridge Harriers) ran undercover with a new haircut which put his compatriots from the South London off the strength that lay within them legs. With a lap to go he edged forward and opened up a good distance. Will attempted to cover the break and managed to run away from Tonbridge's Huw Evans. Lacey took the win in 28.46 over a very dry fast course. Athletes from the South East all rocked up, keeping the club scene alive!

What was nice to say were the legends of running present... names such as Gerry North and Dave Clarke were out watching and supporting. The ever present Stan Allen in the famous Red and Black.
First female over the line was Karrie Blake from Portsmouth in 35:19 followed by SLH's Pippa Major holding off Gemma Marrs and Ruth Hutton who kicked butt on the team front.
Will Clarke, a regular in Richmond Park running in Boxhill last year. Richmond Park reigns supreme in the places to run in London.
